Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören en değerli 100 hissenin belirlendiği endeks BIST 100 olarak tanımlanır. Bu endekse dâhil olan hisseler piyasa ve işlem hacmi gibi kriterlere göre belirlenir. Söz konusu sıralama, piyasanın hacmini ölçmek için kullanılan bir göstergedir.
BIST 100 hisseleri, eski adı IMKB (İstanbul Menkul Kıymetler Borsası) olan Borsa İstanbul tarafından belirlenir. IMKB 100 hisseleri için işlem kodu XU100’dür. Söz konusu endekste yer alan hisseler yerel ve uluslararası yatırımcılar tarafından takip edilir. BIST 100, borsa hakkında detaylı bilgi veren bir sıralamadır. Bu göstergeyi takip ederek Türk piyasasında yüksek kamuoyu arzına sahip olan firmalar hakkında bilgi sahibi olmak mümkündür. Söz konusu endeks, ülke ekonomisinde ön plana çıkan sektörler hakkında da fikri verebilir.
Arbitraj yapmak, teorikte risksiz bir işlem olmasa da pratiğe dökülmesi göründüğü kadar kolay değildir. Zira bilgi akışının yoğun bir hıza eriştiği günümüzde fiyat farklılıklarını tespit etmek ve bunları değerlendirmek son derece güçleşmiştir. Dolayısıyla arbitraj uygulaması, artık daha çok bu işlemler için özel olarak geliştirilmiş yazılım ve algoritmalar yardımıyla yapılır hâle gelmiştir.
“BIST 100 ne kadar?” sorusunu yanıtlarken bu endeksin çeşitli kriterlere göre belirlendiğini söylemek faydalı olur. Piyasa kapitalizasyonu hisselerin değerini belirleyen temel husustur. Bu kavram, şirketlerin tedavüldeki tüm hisselerinin piyasa değerini ifade eder. Borsa İstanbul endeksinde yer alan varlıkların hesabı, hisselerin sayısı ve değeri çarpılarak hesaplanır.
Arz talep dengesi BIST endeksi için belirleyici bir unsurdur. Hisselerin piyasalarda gördüğü talep arttıkça sıralamadaki yeri de doğal olarak yükselir. Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören bir şirketin varlıkları piyasada talep gördüğünde hisselerinin ilk 100’de yer alması mümkündür. Bu endekste yer alıp başarılı bir grafik izleyen firmalar BIST 30 sıralamasına da dâhil olabilir.
BIST 100 hisseleri A ve B grubunda yer alan varlıklar arasından seçilir. Açıklamak gerekirse; 30 milyon TL ve üstü değerde olan paylar A grubunda yer alır. 10 ile 30 milyon TL arasındaki paylar ise B grubundadır. C ve D grubuna dâhil olan hisseler BIST indekslerinde yer almaz.
Borsa İstanbul BIST 100 hisseleri, özel bir formül kullanılarak değer gören varlıklar arasından seçilir. Bu süreçte fiyat ve getiri endeksi hesaplanır. Söz konusu hesaplamada fiyat ve getiri arasındaki temettü ödemeleri ortaya çıkar. Varlıkların piyasa değeri bu şekilde belirlenir.
BIST endeksinde yer alan varlıklar yılın çeşitli dönemlerinde gözden geçirildikten sonra belirlenir. Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören paylar yılda 4 kez kontrol edilir. Söz konusu kontrollerde yüksek değere sahip olanlar BIST 100 endeks sıralamasına dâhil edilir.
BIST 100 kaçta açılır ve ne zaman kapanır diye düşünebilirsiniz. Endeks çalışmaları resmî iş günlerinde yapılır. Borsa İstanbul’un açık olduğu günlerde gerçekleştirilen çalışmalar sabah 09.40 saatinde başlar. Borsa 100 çalışma saatleri yarım iş günlerinde 12.40’ta sonlanır. Çalışmalar tam mesai günlerinde 18.10’a kadar sürer. Borsa İstanbul, hafta sonlarında, dinî ve millî bayramlar başta olmak üzere resmî tatillerde kapalı olduğu için bu günlerde endeks işlemi yapılmaz.

When answering the question "How much is the BIST 100?" it is useful to note that this index is determined based on various criteria. Market capitalization is the primary factor in determining the value of the stocks. This concept refers to the market value of all the shares in circulation for companies. The assets listed in the Borsa Istanbul index are calculated by multiplying the number of shares by their value.
The supply-demand balance is a decisive factor for the BIST index. As the demand for stocks in the markets increases, their position in the ranking naturally rises. If a company's assets traded on Borsa Istanbul are in demand in the market, its stocks may be included in the top 100. Companies that perform well in this index may also be included in the BIST 30 ranking.
The BIST 100 stocks are selected from assets in groups A and B. To clarify; shares with a value of 30 million TL or more are in group A. Shares between 10 and 30 million TL are in group B. Stocks in groups C and D are not included in the BIST indices.
The BIST 100 stocks of Borsa Istanbul are selected from assets valued using a special formula. During this process, the price and return index is calculated. This calculation reveals dividend payments between price and return. The market value of the assets is determined in this way.
The assets included in the BIST index are determined after being reviewed at various times of the year. The shares traded on Borsa Istanbul are reviewed four times a year. During these reviews, those with high value are included in the BIST 100 index ranking.
You might wonder when BIST 100 opens and closes. The index is calculated on official working days. The work conducted on the days Borsa Istanbul is open starts at 09:40 in the morning. On half-working days, the Borsa 100 working hours end at 12:40. On full working days, it continues until 18:10. Since Borsa Istanbul is closed on weekends and during official holidays, including religious and national holidays, no index transactions are conducted on these days.
